Danbury is the center of shopping for the surrounding towns - the Danbury Fair Mall is at exit 3 and Federal Road at exit 7 is where Stew Leonard's, car dealerships, furniture stores and home improvement stores are all located.  Danbury has several parks and also borders on Candlewood Lake

Western Connecticut University (WESTCONN) is located in Danbury and offers a wide variety of study areas for students.  The O'Neill Center is located on the Western Campus and is a large multi-purpose athletic facility.  The Ives Center is for performing arts and the outdoor concert series that is offered every summer is quite popular.
